Amazing history and respect here. A must see to pay our respect for those who fought for our freedom. Beautiful site with a ton of history to learn. Don’t miss it.

This is by far the greatest thing you can see in Luxembourg. You simply cannot come to this city without stopping to take in the scene of over 5,000 headstones of the men and women buried here. It gives you a sense of the scope of fighting that took place in the area. Definitely follow this trip up with a stop at Bastogne

Do not miss this powerful memorial! It is the nicest thing we saw in all of Europe on a recent trip.

My son Chris mentioned that we could go over to the Luxembourg American Cemetery since it was only about 50 miles away from Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. It was a good warm day in October with a blue sky and no clouds perfect. This is were General George S. Patton is interned and is at the front of the formation of crosses as he was as a commander. There are large stone walls that have the map of Europe and the units and progression of the allied movement. There is also a wall with the names of Americans in unknown graves. This is a place of reflection and walk among the perfectly aligned tombstones. We signed our names in the guest book and the director of the cemetery happen to be passing by when I had a short talk with about the gold markers on the wall with the names of the Americans. I asked if those are ones that they got identified and his response was "yes".
