  Hidden in a very nice location, near the Belgian border, you’ll find Auberge de la Gaichel. Small, cozy and English style auberge. Not the big luxury but good enough for a night or two. About 30 minutes from Luxembourg city center. The only thing I didn’t like is that early in the morning, as from 6am, you hear the noise of passing cars. My room was facing the road. This did really disturb me as my wake up call was only at 6:30am. For the rest, clean rooms, old bathrooms, standard breakfast buffet. Buffet could be better, f.ex. scrambled eggs 🍳 I could return as I loved the nature surroundings and the English style decoration of the auberge. Next to the auberge you have the more expensive hotel.

  A wonderful location and a very good dinner. I would only add that not all the courses of the dinner were actually perfectly "balanced", but this is a criticism that only counts when dealing with a Michelin 1star, as it is. Just one disappointing point: we only have tried one of the desserts (some variations of the theme "chocolate") and, well, have to admit that it was not "exiting". It was good, yes, but nothing that in any ordinary restaurant you might not find. Anyway, a such a beautiful location helps you forgiving some minor weakness.
